Gardens From Light
About the artist
By turns trippy, serene, grandiose and outright terrifying. Gardens from Light are an ambient drone duo who hail from the North of England. They formed during 2006 and consist of individuals I. Sparke and S. Illidge. Their album “Birds Of Joy And Sorrow”, recorded during the same year; took inspiration from Eastern European mythology and drew musical influences from the sonic landscapes of William Basinski, Tangerine Dream and Brian Lustmord which, coupled with their own unique densely-layered walls of strings, drones and field recordings, will set your mind wandering as far as it wishes to go.
They are currently recording their follow-up. A conceptual musical adaptation of H. P Lovecraft’s short stories; “The Axis of the Skies” promises to be the true sound of the abyss staring into you. Immense.
