About the artist
Stefan Kushimas drone music focuses on peeling natural structures and patterns. Short guitar, violin or self-built instrument-supported rhythms and harmonies construct a strong, analogue and slightly melancholic auditive image.
Anywhere where concrete music gets abstract again.
Born on 1985-07-06, living and working in Linz/Austria. Finished apprenticeship as mediadesigner in 2004, now studying audiovisual art at Kunstuniversität Linz. Since 2001 primarily working as VJ, director of experimental movies and musician. Several live appearences for example in Mailand, Mexico City and Berlin. Interactive installations for Ars Electronica and Museums Quartier Wien. Contributions amongst others to exhibitions in Frankfurt/Main, Expo Japan, Intermodem Ungarn, Best Off Kunstuniversität Linz, Wiener Festwochen & Mozartjahr. Member of Backlab & BKA since 2003.
