Astrowind

About the artist
The ‘Astrowind’ project has been started long time ago… Internet, synthesizers, television, tape recorders, listening to the radio - all that things were not been existing that time. But… wait. Listening existed then. It was a time of listening to all what you can download at the network.
By the way, it was possible to reach the seaside, using the rusty railroad, that was rolling itself up to the mountain. In that place two sound designers from Latvia, Kriipis and Mahi, met each other. It was first days of January, 2003. Travelling recordist Derek Holzer (NL) invited Kriipis and his friend Rodion - the ‘Oloolo’ project (LV) - to visit a baltic city Liepaja (Libava).
The reason was to play a joint live sessions in the spaces of culture center ‘k@2′, placed on the territory of the former military base of a name of Alexander III.
The result followed as an album ‘Kosta’, released on ‘Nexsound’ (UA) lable at 2004. After that Kriipis and Mahi communicated and met each other periodically. They decided to compose together at the end of 2006. The first result is ep ‘The Night The Stars Flew’ which has been recorded on reel-to-reel audio tape recorder and released March, 2007 on ‘Electrosound’ (RU) lable.
